Paris Vacations: Shopping Hours in Paris

Most Paris store hours are from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. Most stores are closed on Sundays with a few exceptions. Sometimes smaller stores, specifically those in residential districts, are closed on Mondays. Most Paris store hours are open during lunch time for shopping in Paris unlike Italy or Spain. On Thursdays, department stores are often open late (until 10:00 PM) for shopping in Paris.

Shopping in Paris during holidays such as Christmas or other special events in Paris is easier as Paris store hours are lengthened. Paris store hours are the longest during the winter and summer sales months (January and June).

Shopping in the U.S While Traveling For Tourist Vacation

People visiting the United States from other countries love to take advantage of all the great shopping deals in the US. According to surveys, the most popular retail items for tourists include children’s clothing, fashion jeans, American whiskey, fine bed linen and plush bath towels. If you want to get the best deals, it is important that you know where to shop for the best bargains. Below are a few tips to finding the best places for US shopping bargains.

  • Though there are shopping malls everywhere, the big shopping malls and discount stores are usually located in the suburbs.
  • Department stores offer a large variety of quality items and high fashion
  • Most of the department stores have seasonal sales which offer generous discounts. Stores have the end-of-summer sales in July and August; November brings Black Friday, the biggest shopping sales of the year; December 26 through mid-January offers big after-Christmas sales; and all the winter stuff goes on sale in February.
  • If you do not need the latest styles in fashion, high-end name brands or items of the highest quality, you can find plenty affordable items at discount stores such as Walmart, K-Mart and Target.
  • Shop at outlet malls for discounted quality merchandise. Outlet malls usually offer items that have small manufacturing defects or were left over from the shopping season before.
  • The US does not add VAT (value-added tax) to merchandise as many other countries do. However, do not be surprised to find states and cities add a sales tax to purchased items. Check specifically with the state or city that you will be in to see what their policy is.
  • Some of the United States’ most popular shopping areas are the Mall of America in Bloomington Minnesota; Michigan’s Main Street; Arroyo Seco Historic Parkway in Los Angeles, California; and the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas.

Beach Vacations, Beach Vacation Homes

Most summer holidays are spent at a beach destination. The Bahamas, Seychelles, Phuket and Mauritius Islands have some incredible beaches to offer.  Although the beach is the crucial element in beach vacations, the vacation can mix plenty of other attributes such as culture, sports or sightseeing. Major worldwide tourist destinations offer plenty of activities to complement beach vacations including shopping or golfing. Although vacationers are attracted to the ocean, many want to have options for things to do on their beach vacations apart from staying in beach vacation homes on the beach.

When renting holiday villa rentals or beach vacation homes, location is key. The location that you select for your vacation villas or beach vacation homes should offer all the activities and attractions that you hope to find. In order to successfully accomplish this, vacationers should search for vacation guides. They can use a paper vacation guide such as Fodor’s or go online and find online local guides such as Miami-info.com. We prefer online local guides because we believe that a Parisian local guide is in a better position to provide good information about their city than an international company such as Lonely Planet.

Although it is nothing compared to sales in the US or London, expect commotion and lines winding towards storefront doors. Sales events in France are tightly regulated and only authorized in January and July. Therefore, if you are hoping to find great shopping deals in Paris holidays, purchase airline tickets for January.

This year, hotels in Paris and Paris short term rental apartments will offer good discounts. You can also check www.shoppingbyparis.com to help you find great spots.
