Travel Tips, Airlines and Airplane Information

Actually getting to and from a destination is no longer part of the fun of traveling. Flying has become more of an inconvenient ordeal. Due to the economic crisis, the dramatic security adjustments made after 9-11 and the slump that the airlines have experienced for the past 8 years or so, airlines are facing serious financial distress. Travelers are now cramped into bigger planes with smaller seat space. For thorough airlines and airplane information, travel tips recommend using Seatguru.com, a great source. This travel website will bring you a mountain of airlines and airplane information and travel tips that helps make the right decision regarding flying.

Seatguru.com. Plan for your flight.

Plan your flight

Seatguru.com allows access to an unlimited amount of airlines and airplane information such as:
• The type of planes offered by major airline companies
• An analysis of individual airplanes
• Thorough seat analysis including seat dimensions, seat maps and seat pitch
• Pet flying travel tips
• Handicap flying
• Comments and reviews from flyers on the different airlines and on the seats offered
• In-flight amenities offered by airline companies

Such thorough airlines and airplane information is particularly important for long-haul flights like those between Paris and Miami or New York and Phuket. For vacationers traveling a shorter distance, like Boston to Montreal, the severity of which seat, plane or amenities is minimized. Flying is an important part of a trip and vacationers should have as much details about their seat and plane as they do when booking an accommodation in Rome, a luxury vacation villa in Miami Beach or a holiday home in Hawaii.

Each tag has a serial number that will trace the lost luggage back to its owner via the globalbagtag.com website. Members are registered to their tag and the globalbagtag system has all of the members contact information. Travelers may add information to their account such as descriptions of their luggage or their travel itinerary. The minute your lost luggage is located, you will be notified by email, phone or text message. A pack of globalbagtags, which includes two tags and a one-year database membership, costs about $18.95.

Flight wait time is the length of time between flight arrival and the time the last passenger on the flight is screened by CBP officers in the main processing area. US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) closely monitors flight wait times of arriving flights at 16 of the busiest international airports.

miami-international-airport-22

Flight arrival patterns and airport wait times vary greatly depending on the time of year, day of the week and time of day. Travel tips say the best way to predict future airport wait times is to reference the airport wait times for the most recent corresponding season. CBP provides public information for the past twelve months that may be used to predict seasonal airport wait times. The data may also be influenced by the airport and arrival terminal. CBP airport wait times do not include time to retrieve baggage or make your way through the airport. Recognize travel tips that recommend you make sure to allow time for these things if you are scheduled for a connecting flight. Contact the airline or airport authority for additional information or travel tips.

Signs to know When Driving in Florida - Florida Guide

Mar 04

Driving in Florida is very easy. As long as you obey traffic signs and the basic rules, you will be just fine. Traffic signs in Florida exist for your safety and convenience. If you are driving to Florida or planning on renting a car when you get here, familiarize yourself with a few of the basic signs mentioned in the Florida  Guide:

Stop signs

When driving in Florida, bring your vehicle to a complete stop at a stop sign. When you reach a 4-way stop sign, the rule is that the first car to arrive at their stop sign has the right of way and may cross first. The second car may proceed next and so on.

Speed limit

Within the state, speed limitations range between 30 to 45 miles per hour. Should you disobey the speed limit and get caught by a police officer while driving in Florida, be prepared to pay a fine. See our articles in the Florida Guide on radars and radar detectors to better understand and avoid trouble for speeding.

One Way sign

Some roads in Florida will have opposite traffic direction lanes set side-by-side. Some roads, however, are one-way streets. The one-way sign identifies these one-way streets in which traffic may only flow in one direction.

Do not block intersections at a red light

Make sure not to block an intersection at a red light. You can get a ticket for blocking the intersection. You can avoid doing this if you do not move forward to cross an intersection if you are unable to cross the entire intersection.

No U-Turn

Do not make a U-Turn where you see a No U-Turn sign. Again, if you break this rule, you may get a ticket. The Florida Guide suggests that instead, you proceed forward to the next corner that allows a U-Turn.

No turns

Some intersections have a signs indicating that turns are not allowed. Unless a specific turn is mentioned (right or left), you are not to make any turn in either direction. You may only drive forward. Follow these rules carefully when driving in Florida in order to avoid accidents or ticket fees.

Directional Street signs

Some lanes have directional information painted on the actual road. Make sure to be aware of whether the specific lane that you are in requires you to turn right, left or keep straight ahead. Make sure to obey these directions in order to avoid any accidents or fines while driving in Florida.
