Oct 28
Posted: under Australia, Fiji.
Tags: Australia, beach, Fiji, travel, Turtle Island
You can barely believe that Turtle Island in Fiji can fit all of its magnificence on 500 acres. The romantic, couple-catering exclusive vacation island has 14 private white-sand beaches, which is a perfect number as there are never more than 14 couples on the exclusive vacation island at one given time. Turtle Island is one of the world’s most exclusive vacation destinations. Though it caters mainly to couples, there are a few designated family weeks every year. As far as couples go, some visit Turtle Island to wed right next to the beautiful Blue Lagoon, others just to celebrate their love and some to rekindle the love that can sometimes get drowned out by the chaos of everyday life. Enjoy romantic activities such as picnics on a secluded white-sand beach, sensual massages, horseback riding, snorkeling, sunset cruises, diving, sailing, canoeing, hiking and kayaking.
Each couple has their own spacious cottages which are called bures. The bures are equipped with four king-size beds, walk-in double showers, jetted spa tubs and queen-size daybeds on the verandas. The exclusive vacation bures are designed with a combination of modern, eco-friendly and traditional Fijian building techniques. Each bure comes with its own manager, known here as a Bure Mama, which is a cultural advisor who welcomes the couple, looks after them and shares insight into the island’s history. Vonu Point is a premium two bedroom bure elevated at the north end of the Blue Lagoon. The totally private Vonu Point offers breathtaking views of the lagoon and the Yasawa Islands.
Enjoy Fiji’s unforgettable meals while you float atop a pontoon in the Blue Lagoon. Turtle Island’s staff provides after-dinner entertainment with Fijian dances and songs. Afterwards, join them in the late-night gathering around the kava bowl. For more information on this exclusive vacation, visit turtlefiji.com or call 800-255-4347.a
