Haz-Zebbug is an old town which served as a city during the times of the Knights of St John and is in fact named Citta` de Rohan, after its founder Grand Master de Rohan. It is found in the centre of Malta. Zebbug consists of an old village core characterised by narrow winding streets and an imposing church set in a large square, as well as more recent developments taking place on the outskirts of the village. The Parish Church is dedicated to Philip of Agira. The name of the town literally means "olives" in Maltese; it derives from the large olive groves that stood in and around the current location of the church and the centre of the town.
