Description:
This Big Island Vacation Rental is located on the Ocean at Kahena Beach on the youngest and largest in the chain of Hawaiian Islands, known to the locals as the Big Island or the Island of Hawaii.
Named, Hale O Kahena Nani, House of Flowing Beauty, is for the discriminating visitor who is looking for peace and serenity. As you gaze at the Ocean from the deck, you can often see dolphins at play or a turtles head as it bobs on the surface of the waves. It is common to see fish in the waves as they swell, and depending on the time of year you may see whale breeching. Truly a magnificent sight! Sunsets are breathtaking and you may even see the ?green flash? which many locals still long to see. The location is a private hideaway which most visitors will never experience this Hawaii in a hotel in town.
This oceanfront beach home affords the comfort of a 2 bedroom, 1 bath home decorated Island Style. Upon entering the home, you will be awe struck by the view of the ocean. Upon entering the spacious living room is a large picture window which opens to an unobstructed view of the ocean. The same view is also visible from the dining room, master bedroom and even the kitchen, while washing dishes!
The 2 bedrooms are both decorated Island style as well. Each holds a queen size bed. The master bedroom opens to the lanai and the sounds of the ocean.
The additional bedroom, also has a queen size bed and a sitting area as well. It is ventilated with 2 windows which have a peek a boo ocean view. It is decorated with Island style fabrics.
Kahena Beach is the off spring of the 1955 lava flow. It is 24 miles south of Hilo and is nestled between Kapoho and Kalapana. Hale O Kahena is located so you may take in the sites of Hilo town to the east, or take the drive around the Kiluea Volcano and southern most tip of the United States and head north to Kona, the west side of island. Either way you go, there are many stops along the way. Beware,

Beware, they are not always marked by traditional green highway signs with big white letters.
As you drive to the property, you will see this view. You will turn left to and drive along the coast until you reach the Hale O Kahena.
Whether you head north to Hilo or south to Volcano Village or round the tip to Kona, there is a many things to see, do or experience. Or you might just decide to stay at Hale O Kahena and walk the beach in the morning, take a rejuvenating nap while the ocean sounds sing you to sleep, go fishing (a Hawaiians favorite past time, next to eating) or have a refreshing drink on the lanai.
Moana Pali Kai Street(where the ocean meets the cliffs), is secluded with a scattering of dwellings. You have no neighbors to left of you and there is a small house to the right, which is nestled behind foliage and does not block your view.
