Also nearby is the Polynesian Cultural Center, ecological tours, historical/cultural attractions and festivals, Sea Life Park, whale watching, ocean fishing, terrific hiking and horseback riding. Walk in the inn's lush tropical garden with its bananas, ginger, coconuts and papayas for guests to enjoy. Paddle out from the inn's back yard to Coconut Island where Gilligan's Island was filmed in one of the 2 two person kayaks provided by the inn. To visit a tropical version of Japan, a 15 minute drive will take you to the Byodo-In temple in the Valley of the Temples. The Byodo-In is an exact replica of the Japanese temple. You may ring the enormous temple bell for good luck and feed the koi in their 2 acres of ponds. At the end of the day, you will always be glad to return to the quiet comfort of the inn. An evening BBQ on your lanai, overlooking the sweeping water and mountain views is a great way to relax and enjoy the inn's tranquility. There is no better view in Hawaii than the one of the sun setting over the mountains. The sight of the full moon setting behind the mountains early in the morning has a quiet beauty all its own.
