Description:
This grand English Tudor Manor is just the right setting for groups of 12 on the ground fl, 8 on the Upper fl and 4 in the Carriage House for a total of up to 24. There are 7 bedrooms and currently 2 baths, with two more being installed in the Spring of 2004. The Ground floor features an elegantly appointed gourmet kitchen with highly polished granite tiled counters and all new stainless steel appliances including a Jen Aire computerized stove that is simple to use and has both a regular or convection oven. The Bosh dishwasher is so quiet you have to listen closely to check if it is running! The dining room had two tables. One that seats 8 and one that seats 12 with 4 counter stools in the dining area for a total of 24.
The 1st Bedroom has a 4 poster Queen and 1 twin, 2nd Bedroom has a California King air coiled bed. The Dining room has a Queen innerspring futon near the small firestove and the living room has a double futon lounger, a twin day bed and another Queen innerspring futon in front of the large wood fireplace. The Upper level has a 1st Bedroom has redwood floors with a Queen bed and 1 twin, 2nd Bedroom has a twin trundle bed (one twin slides out from underneath the other for sleeping.) The living room has 2 queen innerspring futons near the fireplace, a twin day bed and an elegant hardwood crib (which when there are no infants visiting, doubles at a stuffed toy storage bin.) There is a compact, yet fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave and a table that seats 6. The stackable laundry is located in a small closet off the kitchen. The detached Carriage House has 2 more Queen innerspring futons and will soon have a gas firestove. The 7,000 sq ft yard had a small but fun hot tub, a croquet area, several shady oak trees, flowers and plenty of room to hang up wetsuits and surfboards. There is a also an outside shed with up to 10 bicycles to enjoy the neighborhood with.
This Manor was built in 1924 and has a rumored history of having being built as a bordello for the neighboring wharf?s sailors. It is currently surrounded by newer homes and is a short 4 min walk to one of the areas largest sandy beaches. There is also a couple of nice deli?s and a fine restaurant called Caf? Rio.
