Description:
Our townhouse, C207, is in Blind Pass Condominiums, a Sanibel Island resort. This is a small complex of two and three bedroom units on the quiet end of the island, closer to Captiva. We are on the second and third floor. Theoretically we are on the beach, as there are no streets between the condo complex and the Gulf of Mexico. There is a small lagoon situated between the complex and the beach. You must cross a wooden footbridge to reach the beach. Our beach is considered, by most who know Sanibel, to be the best beach on the island (widest, longest, least populated, best shelling, etc.) Blind Pass provides a sense of seclusion and is quite a distance from all the other condos and hotels on Sanibel; affording it a uniquely peaceful, unpopulated and tropical environment.
Blind Pass is not just a building on the beach or your "run of the mill" Sanibel rentals. They are clustered apartments in a Polynesian style with approx 4 units clustered together. You can walk around the property and experience "breathing" space. The pool is huge, recently renovated and heated in cooler months. The newly renovated tennis courts are set in a landscaped environment. Even the lagoon offers a sense of discovery of nature as tropical birds can frequently be spotted visiting this body of water.
Square foot for square foot, Blind Pass is the best vacation value on Sanibel or Captiva. The size of the units, their proximity to the beach, the maintenance of the grounds, pool and the amenities offered provide an economical and wonderfully relaxing resort for families, couples and solo vacationers.
We have over 1,400 sq feet of living space. As you enter through the front door, there is a small foyer with a half bath, decorated in a lighthouse motif. To the right is a hideaway full sized washer and dryer. Next a tiled kitchen with updated appliances and everything that the chef might desire - right down to a rounder filled with spices. Your next relaxing area is a large living room/dining room combination. This is decorated in a boating motif. From the comfortable yellow and rose plaid couches,( one which makes into a comfortable queen sized sleeper), to the large rattan ottoman chair; this is a room you will feel as if you can lounge. There is a large TV,CD player and VCR. This room and the adjoining dining room both have light honey colored rattan and wicker furniture. The dining room contains a glass top table with seating for six. All furniture has been newly purchased. The adjoining screened in porch, complete with ceiling fan, is furnished with a table for casual dining so that you can enjoy the pool & courtyard view. Upstairs you will find a master bedroom and adjoining tiled bath with a wonderful king sized bed and white wicker reading chair. This is done in a shell motif. The room also has a telephone and remote controlled TV. The addition of a screened in porch, which also sports a ceiling fan, is decorated with white wicker furniture. This gives you the opportunity to enjoy the evening breezes or view the garden and pool while you enjoy a good book in the afternoon. Down the hall is your spare room. This is decorated with whimsical fish. It has twin beds that can easily be combined to make another king. This room is also accented with white wicker. It is also equipped with a remote control TV and has it's own tiled bath.
Sanibel is full of good restaurants, but our favorites are on Captiva they are: The Lazy Flamingo, RC Otters, The Mucky Duck, The Green Flash and of course The Bubble Room. This Sanibel resort has it all!! Everything on Sanibel is low key and easy, so above all else, relax, enjoy and have a great time!
