Vacation rentals contracts vary from owner to owner and country to country. English contracts are known to be much longer and much more detailed than holiday rentals contracts in France, Spain or Thailand.

 

 

 

 

The more detailed, the better it is because it will state the rights and obligations of all parties. Of course reading and analyzing a vacation rentals contract is not what renters want to do before going on vacation.

 

It definitely takes away some of the fun. However, this pain is required if you want to enhance your chances of spending a great holiday without worry.  When things are written down it reduces vagueness and the potential for future disagreements.

 

Ethical owners of holiday rentals will be as detailed as possible. The last thing they want is to fight with you so they will often have lengthy contracts. Renters should sign a contract and reserve a vacation rentals property only if they feel very comfortable with the owner and the contract.

 

If they feel comfortable with the owner and not quite with the contract, they should ask the owner of the holiday rentals to modify and amend the agreement to include their requests or requirements. In most cases, vacation rentals owners will accept the changes and reflect it in their contract if the requirements make sense.
